"Tango changed my life. My great joy is sharing my passion with those looking to change
their lives too. " - Koa Hons
Mesmerized by tango after watching the world famous Forever Tango group perform in Seattle in 2008, his tango adventure started immediately and with tenacity by participating in Argentine tango classes in Tacoma and in Seattle. His love of the culture, music, and connection fueled a passion for tango. Koa studied the internationally adored dance from instructors such as: Jenny Mulligan, Carlos Barrionuevo & Mayte Valdes (BsAs), Eva Lucero & Patricio Touceda (BsAs), Michelle Badion (USA), and instructors from Buenos Aires, Berlin, New York, L.A., & San Francisco.
In 2009 Koa started teaching Argentine Tango in Olympia & Tacoma, WA with Jenny Mulligan. In 2011 he began teaching in Seattle with wonderful partners like: Vivian Konstantakos, Michelle Badion, Juliet McMains, Gwen Richards, Jennifer Bruner, K'ai Roberts-Fu, Tatiana Vancouver (B.C.), and Porscha McRobbie. One of his highlights is teaching with Christa Rodriguez, Vivian K., Juliet M., Jennifer B., and Gwen R. at the prestigious The 8th Style School of Tango under the genius tutelage of Jaimes Friedgen.

Koa's teaching partner is Morgana Buell~
During college, Morgana’s quiet interest in dance and creative movement became a passion and evolved into the desire to teach Ballroom. During training, she veered toward Viennese Waltz and Salsa which has since turned into West Coast Swing, Salsa and primarily, Argentine Tango / Fusion. “I consider Argentine Tango to be a thinkers’ dance which forces me as a partner, to slow down and become a better listener. Dance is a conversation likening any other language and, like walking or other dances, it’s just another way of elegantly falling and catching yourself!” Argentine Tango is often utilized in couples therapy as a means to learn more efficient communication and in many cases, an advised form of physical therapy. Morgana’s training stems from Patricio Touceda / Eva Lucero, Michelle Badion and Carlos /Mayte. While she's trained in Salon, Traditional (close embrace) and Milonguero, she gravitates toward Nuevo Style due to the musical versatility, open frame elasticity and athleticism.
